From florals and wedding crests to venue illustrations and wedding maps, I love to put a spin on classic ideas to incorporate your style and individuality. My standard custom wedding invitation package includes: invitations + envelopes, one additional details card, RSVP card + RSVP envelopes and return address printing for both. Your suite can additionally include bells & whistles ranging from envelope liners to details cards and vintage postage.

The Custom Invitation Process
Step 3: A sketch made during the “Look Book” stage of our design process
Step 5: A 1st round proof of the painted suite. At this stage, a client can made edits to layout and text.
Each Custom Wedding Invitation package is different. Depending on the services and paper goods you choose, the full design & printing process can take 2-4 months to complete. Remember as well, invitations are mailed 6-8 weeks before a wedding!
Step 1: Reach out to Sofia Lenore Watercolors
I’ll ask you some questions about your big day then use your answers to put together a personalized quote based on your interests & budget. We will also schedule a phone consultation to review + adapt & add to this quote as needed. It’s not set in stone until you are ready to move forward.
Step 2: Approve Your Quote
I require a signed contract & 50% retainer in order to proceed with painting & design. This 50% retainer fee is based off of your quote, and you will receive a final invoice one week before any final pieces are mailed.
Step 3: Lets Start Designing
I will use your questionnaire and our followup discussions to create a personalized “Look Book” with color schemes, sketches, and an overall design aesthetic to start bringing your vision to life. Your package will include 3 complimentary revision rounds that allow you to make specific changes to the design. I want to ensure you are 100% thrilled with the style & imagery before painting!
Step 4: Time to Paint
This is when the magic happens!
Step 5: Review and Approve Proofs
Once all of the work happens behind the scenes, I will send you online proofs of your print pieces to review and approve. Revisions to completed paintings & designs are allowed at this point, but will be an additional charge on your final invoice (text edits are complimentary). When I get the go ahead, they’re sent to the printers.
Step 6: Printing & Assembly
I complete a full quality check and assemble all of the invitation suites after I receive the final pieces from the printers. Sofia Lenore Watercolors does not currently offer hand calligraphy on envelopes, but offers printed addressing (via a computer) in a font and layout of your choice. All finished suites are then sent to you for official mailing!
Investing in Custom Work
For Custom Wedding Invitations through Sofia Lenore Watercolors, brides can expect to spend a base of $3,200. This includes an invitation design package + printing costs for 100 invitation suites (invitation + envelopes, one additional details card, RSVP card + RSVP envelopes and return address printing for both). Your personalized quote will also reflect any additional services, paper types, postage, address printing, and higher quantity of invites as needed. As part of my custom invitations package, you’ll also receive all original watercolor paintings used for your suite as heirloom keepsakes of your big day!
